  • House of Representatives 500 seats 路 4-year term 路 Mixed-member system: 400 members elected in single-member constituencies and 100 by party-list proportional representation
  • Senate 200 seats 路 5-year term 路 Indirect selection process rather than direct election by the general public

The King is the head of state, while the Prime Minister is appointed by the King following approval by the House of Representatives. The Senate is not directly elected by voters; its members are selected under the statutory senator-acquisition process. Failure to vote without notifying a valid reason can result in loss of voting rights under the law.
