National Assembly 163 seats · 5-year term · parallel voting in single-member and two-member constituencies
Senate 18 seats · 5-year term · 12 indirectly elected by local officials and 6 appointed by the president

Madagascar is a unitary semi-presidential republic. The president is directly elected for a five-year term and may serve at most two terms; the Senate is partly indirectly elected and partly presidentially appointed, so not all national legislators are chosen directly by voters.
