National Assembly 65 seats · 5-year term · Party-list proportional representation using the largest remainder Hare formula; 25 seats are elected from 10 geographical constituencies and 40 from a national

The President is both head of state and the supreme executive authority. Voters elect the President through a double-simultaneous vote linked to the National Assembly election: each party list designates a presidential candidate, and the candidate on the list receiving the most votes is elected. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President rather than separately elected.
