  • National Assembly 145 seats · 5-year term · Direct universal suffrage; two-round majority system. The chamber includes 143 seats for constituencies in Gabon and 2 seats for Gabonese citizens abroad.
  • Senate 5-year term · Indirect universal suffrage by an electoral college composed of elected local officials; two-round single-member majority voting.

The 2024 Constitution abolished the office of prime minister and places executive authority in the President, who is both head of state and head of government. The President is directly elected for a seven-year term, renewable once; senators are elected indirectly by elected local officials, while the CNOCER organizes and centralizes elections under the Interior Ministry and the ACER is an independent oversight body.
