The President is directly elected for a five-year term and may serve no more than two consecutive terms. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President, and the Government must obtain and retain the confidence of the Chamber of Deputies. The State Election Commission coordinates and controls election preparation and administration, while the Czech Statistical Office processes election results.
